Só quem já viveu um Círio consegue entender esse fenômeno social que provoca uma emoção tão grande, dá nó na garganta, leva às lágrimas e comove pela espiritualização, transcendendo crenças e descrenças pois, para participar do Círio, não precisa ser católico e nem acreditar em Deus. É uma festa de todos! Nossa Senhora de Nazaré, nossa padroeira, protege a todas as almas com suavidade e doçura, sem exigir carteirinha de comprovação de credo religioso (pode ser judeu, protestante, umbandista, ateu… não importa), classe social, cor, sexo ou idade. Ela estende seu manto sagrado, iluminando nossos caminhos com sua força bondosa, fazendo renascer esperanças, minimizando dores e trazendo fé aos corações.

Para participar do Círio,romeiros de todas as partes do Brasil e até do exterior, chegam de navio, pequenas embarcações, avião, carros, ônibus… e formam uma multidão de anônimos unidos na fé, gratidão e esperança, percorrendo quase cinco quilômetros que separam a catedral metropolitana da Basílica de Nazaré, pagando promessas e renovando esperanças num mundo mais fraterno e  igualitário.

INTIMIDADE COM A SANTINHA

É tanta fé, devoção, afeto e intimidade com Nossa Senhora de Nazaré que, carinhosamente a chamamos de Nazarezinha, Naza, Nazica ( que eu prefiro,t alvez porque se pareça com o nome de minha mãe, Nazilda) e não tem absolutamente nada de desrespeito nessas formas de tratamento, muito pelo contrário, é um chamamento de um filho a “uma grande mãe amorosa” e que foi designada por Deus para cuidar de nós – “dai-nos a benção bondosa, senhora de Nazaré”.

E nossa padroeira tinha que ser uma mulher, já que o feminino é a fonte da vida e nossa maior referência de amor. As expressões suplicantes, esperançosas e agradecidas dos romeiros são dirigidas a esta grande mãe que com carinho, acolhe nossa devoção e fé (um componente primordial da evolução humana) pois entende que através dela buscamos forças para sobreviver nesse mundo difícil – “olhai por nós oh! Virgem santa, pois precisamos de paz”. E quando ela aparece na berlinda, a comoção é imensa; amigos se abraçam e mesmo desconhecidos se tocam e se olham, envolvidos por uma onda de esperança, paz e felicidade, como no Natal.

O NATAL DOS PARAENSES

O Círio é uma festa de amor e solidariedade. É uma celebração de esperança por uma vida melhor para nós e o nosso povo. É um momento de reunir a família e os amigos num clima de confraternização e alegria, com a “Nazica” olhando atenta a tudo, não permitindo que haja preconceito, discriminação ou luta de classe, pelo menos nesse dia. Todos são seus filhos amados! E Nossa Senhora, como uma grande mãe é incansável: peregrina por ruas, estradas e rios sempre nos encontrando com seu melhor sorriso

E são tantas homenagens que ela recebe ( e como é generosa, permite que o religioso conviva com o profano): as novenas; as procissões; o círio fluvial; a transladação; o círio com a  queima de fogos; o carro dos milagres (que recolhe as promessas e acolhe os pedidos); as crianças vestidas de anjo; a corda (onde as pessoas vão de pés descalços cumprir um sacrifício físico e emocional); os corais e os artistas cantando; a festa da Chiquita (promovida por seus filhos mais alegres)… E como  fica feliz percebendo os gestos de solidariedade  naquela imensa multidão! Só quem já viveu o Círio sabe que “È por isso que, na alma de todo paraense, a vida é sempre outubro…”, como bem diz o Pe. Fábio de Melo. Que a “Nazica” abençoe a todos nós. Feliz Círio!
