BULLYING NÃO É BRINCADEIRA

Há 16 anos escrevo no “Liberal” e o meu primeiro texto foi sobre bullying. Minha escolha do assunto foi em função da quantidade de crianças e adolescentes que eu atendia, em meu consultório, e que eram vítimas da crueldade dos colegas. Já escrevi outros artigos e até um livro sobre o assunto e trago esse tema de volta em razão da alta incidência de bullying nas escolas de Belém. As consequências do bullying são muito danosas e incluem sintomas psicossomáticos, transtorno de pânico, depressão, transtornos de ansiedade, fobia escolar, abandono da escola e até tentativas de suicídio, suicídios e homicídios.  

  O bullying são todos os atos repetitivos, danosos e agressivos, feitos com a intenção de desqualificar, intimidar e machucar outra pessoa, que é vista como diferente, provavelmente por não apresentar o mesmo padrão de beleza (são gordinhos, têm cabelo crespo…), elegância (não usam roupa de grife…), conhecimento (são considerados nerdes) e não pertencer ao grupo dos populares da turma (não freqüentam as festas badaladas, não saem nas colunas sociais…). Bullying é crueldade!

As vítimas do bullying costumam ser pessoas tímidas, caladas, sensíveis, retraídas, frágeis fisicamente e emocionalmente, que se manifestam pouco em sala de aula e interagem pouco com o resto da turma. Como são muito na delas, possuem poucos amigos, podem ter interesses diferentes dos demais colegas e não são pessoas enturmadas. O aluno fortão, popular e descolado jamais vai ser vítima de bullying pois tem recursos internos para se defender e sabe que tem um grupo de amigos com quem pode contar.

O bullying é um mal silencioso porque as pessoas, na maioria das vezes, sentem-se humilhadas e frustradas consigo mesmas por não conseguirem reagir e pedir ajuda; além disso, têm muito medo que não acreditem nela, que as agressões tornem-se ainda maiores se os bullies descobrirem que ela abriu a boca, isso sem contar na decepção que elas vão causar aos pais por serem tão frágeis. A escolha das vítimas não acontece por acaso, eles só vitimizam pessoas que não são capazes de se defender.

Então, como perceber que seu filho está sendo vítima de bullying na escola? Com certeza, seu filho vai apresentar algumas dessas condutas: não quer ir à aula; pede pra trocar de turma; começa a tirar notas baixas: mostra-se inseguro e com medo; apresenta mal estar antes de ir pra escola: dores de cabeça, dor de barriga, febre ou vômitos; está sempre triste, infeliz e desmotivado para a escola; apresenta alteração no apetite e no sono; nunca comenta nada sobre a escola e nem é convidado para festas de aniversário dos colegas da turma… Eles se retraem e se isolam.

As escolas precisam assumir uma postura mais firme de combate ao bullying e todos nós, pais e educadores, devemos estar atentos e ensinar nossos filhos e alunos a respeitarem as diferenças; a valorizarem o exercício da convivência com respeito; a terem uma postura de compreensão, aceitação e solidariedade com as pessoas que não são iguais fisicamente e nem em condutas . Também é muito importante ensiná-los a denunciar todos os atos discriminatórios e preconceituosos, que podem trazer danos gravíssimos para as vítimas e deixar marcas profundas na alma.
